It shouldn’t be news to anyone with internet access that Broadcast’s Trish Keenan passed away from pnuemonia just six days ago. Since then, the constant outpour of love from fans, musicians, and bloggers has been stunning. Just about two hours ago The Sight Below’s Rafael Anton Irisarri and singer-songwriter Benoit Pioulard released an absolutely astounding cover of Broadcast’s “Until Then.”

I’ve been listening to the track on repeat for the past hour or so and still cannot adequately describe my feelings on the track. But one thing I’m certain of is, that in this final letter to Trish Keenan, Thomas Meluch and Rafael Anton Irisarri have created something truly devastating. DL via [soundcloud]

A little late on posting this, but a few days ago S. Carey released his first official music video for “In The Dirt”. S. Carey is the drummer of Bon Iver and released his first full length, All We Grow, last year. If I wouldn’t have rushed through making my best-of 2010 list, this release surely would’ve been on it (read my pseudo-review of the album here). I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live multiple times (just the other night, actually), and his live performance does not disappoint. In early February he’ll be embarking on tour with Yann Tiersen, and that will be a show you surely do not want to miss.

THE RADIO DEPT. | Heaven’s On Fire

In 1995, The Radio Dept. was formed by Elin Almered and Johan Duncanson (who were old school friends). The name was taken from a gas station/radio repair shop in Lund, Sweden, which had a large sign with the name Radioavdelningen, (“The Radio Department” in Swedish) hanging outside their shop.

We miss this classic 90’s rock so much. This is just pure raw good music without crazy looping effects or ‘chill-wave’ material we’ve been hearing all year. Let’s bring this stuff back, ok?

P.S. Don’t smoke girls, we find that very unattractive. No offense if you do. :)
